The caption sure rung a bell in your heart, right? Be it be the amazing opening in Season 1, or the mind-blowing fight scenes or the back stories of each character, Tokyo Ghoul has surely won all of our hearts. Today, I am going to discuss about my favourite characters from this anime. So, without any further delay, let's dive into the listicle below. Oh, and also mention your favourite characters from the anime in the comment section below.
Again, not because of the ship, she has appeared in this list because you can best describe her character by comparing it to a coconut. This ghoul is tough and full of rage, mostly irritated in the beginning but as the story proceeds she continues to become softer. She deeply feels for people as she cannot come to terms with the fact that she killed people who had a family. She is moody but, but boy, is she a good fighter! Her love and care for her dear ones is endless.
He is a boy, but he also is an investigator at CCG! The most psychotic character, (there's a reason to it though!) he was raised by ghouls. He had no fear, pain or remorse in killing someone or getting hurt. He found killing people and fighting enjoyable as his past itself made him this way. He was partnered with Shinohara, and he stirred up father-like feelings in that child! So much so, that the guy who was known to be emotionless, cried watching Shinohara get well! That was one of my favourite moments in the anime!

1. KEN KANEKI
Not only because he's the protagonist, but also, the strange turn of events didn't pull him down. A human turned ghoul, he was a very kind person in the beginning of the story who studied Japanese Literature at Kamii University. After his encounter with Rize, he acquired his one-eyed ghoul form which ultimately led to him becoming a waiter at Anteiku. I feel that Yamori's torture made him shift his gaze from kindness and made him understand the harsh reality of harming someone to protect others. His best friend is Hideyoshi Nagachika. He loved to read, was quiet and reserved.(So like me!) Also one of my favourite ships in anime is Kaneki and Touka.

The best friend we all adore, right? Nagachika, popularly known as, Hide is Kaneki's best friend and only one close to him, who also went to Kamii University and in this dark story of Tokyo Ghoul, he is the optimistic sunshine! He is very upbeat and lively and has made it into this list because of his immense faith in the fact that he believes his friend. Tokyo Ghoul root season's last episode has all my heart! Also, his sacrifice is a proof of the rarest of rare bond he shares with Kaneki.
5. THE QUINX SQUAD
What did you ask? Who do I like more amongst the four of them? Well, all of them! Starting from the lazy and "work-phobic" Saiko Yonebayashi, to the forever competitive Kuki Urie, to the "I-know-what-you're-feeling" Tooru Mutsuki, to Captain Shirazu, each one of them has their share of pains before they joined CCG. I believe every single one had a huge character development throughout the story and the best thing about a squad should be that they are there for each other, which all of them have defined in such beautiful ways. Shirazu's death was probably the hardest to watch, though!
