Hello, people! Long time, no see, right? First of all, thanks for being patient with my irregularity and my nonsense talks. We will discuss everything in my next blog which is an interactive post (if you remember that alternating interactive post rule). So, what is this blog all about? Well, well, as the title and the banner suggests, this post is all about the food and the meals that Bengalis love, because after all, I am a Bengali. I feel like, Bengalis have this craze for food and cooking that is very unique to the Bengalis. Also, read till the end for a short surprise that not just Bengalis but every person in this whole world absolutely loves. Moreover, do not forget to share your experiences with your regional food and share this post with your friends because, please🥺👉👈.

A lot of people, who do not belong from Bengal would have this question which is what is the food in the banner. So, that is called Paatishaapta, a sweet savoury which is basically made of rice flour and coconut or kheer filling. It is very appetizing and I highly recommend you trying this one, if you never had them before and have a sweet tooth.
So, without further ado, let's start our journey through the enticing meals!
1. SOMETHING'S FISHY!
This is no hidden fact that Bengalis love fish. Also, why not? Fishes are rich in protein and have a huge amount of nutrient. In the picture, we have a whole lunch platter comprising of fishes! Beside the rice, we have a preparation which we call shorshe ilish. It basically is a preparation of the Hilsa fish with mustard paste. Hilsa, in itself is very tasty guys, and the mustard paste adds an amazing flavour to it. Next, in the big bowl, we have maachher maatha diye moong dal, which means moong dal prepared with the fish's head. A lot of you, who have never tasted this before, might actually be very skeptical about how it would taste but trust me, it's heavenly! The fish's head has a huge amount of tasty ghee which we absolutely miss out, so hey, why not cook it this way? Next up, we have maachher ambol, which comprises of fish dipped in a tamarind pulp whose consistency is quite watery. Try this out people and do tell me how you liked it!
2. CLASSIC SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Of course, the euphoric fam has my heart with the correct guess! Sunday afternoons in any Bengali household is literally INCOMPLETE without maangshor jhol and bhaat(chicken curry and rice). Especially, in the winter afternoon, when it's chilling outside and you feel too cold, a piping hot plate of this would make your taste-buds dance in joy! Happy eating, lovelies!
3. THE BHOG
Any pujo, in any home in Bengal, is accompanied by the "loved-by-all" Khichuri Bhog. Who doesn't know Khichdi after all? Aah, that aroma! This platter is accompanied by badhakopir torkaari (preparation of cabbage), papor-bhaja (papar) and the all-time favourite mango chutney. Do not miss out on bhog any pujo!
4. SURPRISE!
As I said, not just Bengalis, but this food which is not authentic of Bengal yet very famous in Bengal(actually all over the world), is everyone's favourite. You dip that dumpling in the chutney and then you take a bite of this delicacy and the amount of joy in that one bite is tonnes. Generally made with a chicken or vegetarian stuffing, momos are accompanied by the red chutney which is basically made of red chillies and tomatoes. Make sure your friend treats you with this on their birthday this year!
So, I hope you liked reading about the Bengali foods I love to have. I would really appreciate it if you share this post with your family and friends. Comment down below your favourite regional food! See you soon, bye-bye!
